Catalyze is partnering with the U.S. Government’s Prosper Africa initiative to provide a range of services in advancing the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) priorities. This work is supported by USAID through the Africa Trade and Investment program.
Our primary goal is to facilitate a greater understanding of AGOA and GSP among African companies, exporters, associations, and international buyers by highlighting how to leverage these agreements to boost trade and investment between Africa and U.S. markets.

What are AGOA and GSP?
[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”22px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1688654937678{margin-top: 0px !important;}”]The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is a trade program that allows a range of products from eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa to export duty-free into the U.S. market. Not all African countries qualify for AGOA.
AGOA was established in 2000 by the U.S. Congress to promote economic development, export-driven growth, and stronger economic engagement between the U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Countries that do not meet the requirements for AGOA can explore trade opportunities through the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).
The GSP is a trade program that helps developing countries use trade to improve their economies and advance growth and prosperity. It is the largest and oldest trade preference program in the U.S.
